What is a Mini Split System?

In a central AC system, the warm air in your home is blown over a coil filled with coolant. The coolant absorbs the warmth from the air, then flows outside to another coil, where it can release that heat into the outdoor air. The chilled air remaining inside your home is then blown through your ducts, where it is distributed throughout your home.

In a ductless mini split system, the process is essentially the same, except for how the cold air is distributed. Unlike in a central AC system, which relies on the ductwork in your home to transport cool air to different parts of your home, a mini split system relies on individual wall units in each room you want to cool.

Because your mini split system doesn’t rely on ducts, you have much more control over your cooling. With ducts, the only control you have is at the end of each duct, where you can close the registers that allow air into each room. If you want to raise the temperature, you need to raise the thermostat in your home.

With a mini split, each wall unit contains its own cooling coil, meaning you can adjust the temperature in each room without affecting the other wall units, giving you ultimate control over your home’s comfort.

Your Mini Split Installation

Thanks to our experience, our Twin Falls, Idaho mini split installation service goes quickly and efficiently. Because mini splits don’t need ducts, you won’t need to install ductwork in your home, which can be both messy and expensive. Even if you do have ducts, your mini split system simply doesn’t connect to them. In fact, we’ll just need to drill some small holes to run lines for your refrigerant.

We can install a wall unit in any room in your home, depending on which areas you’d like cooled. Each wall unit is connected to a condenser outside your home, which is where the refrigerant in your home is cooled, and where the power for each wall unit is supplied. Once everything is connected and your unit is attached to the wall, your mini split system will be ready to go.

Benefits of a Professional Mini Split Installation

Your mini split installation offers you a number of benefits, including:

Efficiency

Since each unit is responsible for cooling individual areas, you’ll spend less energy cooling unoccupied rooms—saving you money.

Ease of Installation

Because each unit only requires a few small holes, they can be installed quickly and easily, meaning you’ll get cool air fast.

Cooling Zones

Each wall unit acts as a miniature air conditioner, and because they function independently, you have complete control over the climate in your home.
